Block deals
Block deals are large negotiated trades executed in a dedicated NSE/BSE window at a single price.
Block deals run in a dedicated exchange window at one negotiated price, with minimum size as per the latest NSE/BSE circular.
They are used for large ownership transfers without slicing across the continuous order book.
This is not the same as a bulk-deal disclosure, which can arise from ordinary market trades during the day.
Reported block deals often involve promoters, funds, or strategic investors.
