CDSL

Central Depository Services Limited is one of two SEBI-registered securities depositories in India, alongside NSDL.

Investors hold dematerialised securities through a depository participant in either CDSL or NSDL.

CDSL maintains beneficial-owner balances and supports services such as e-voting for many issuers.

Choice of depository is via the DP; holdings are not exclusive to one retail channel.

Operational demat concepts are shared under the demat entry.
