Lot size

Lot size is the fixed number of shares underlying one futures or options contract on the exchange.

NSE revises lot sizes periodically so contract values stay within regulatory ranges.

A trader’s notional exposure equals lot size multiplied by price and number of lots.

Stock option premiums are quoted per share but billed for the full lot.

Corporate actions can trigger temporary lot-size or contract adjustments.
